The Mission of GulfClean.org:

1.  Be a central repository for resources that anyone can use to build their own recovery tools, harvest oil, and maintain their living while bettering the situation.

2.  To incentivize innovation; finding ways to make the oil spill pay off for those involved.

Share, Get, and Discuss ideas HERE!

At Gulfclean.org, we believe that the gathering of good ideas is crucial to solving the gulf oil spill crisis.  America was built on innovation.  Sadly, much of technology used for oil cleanup today hasn't changed in 40 years. We know better technology exists, and we want to help get it out to the world.

As Peter Diamandis (Chairman of the X-Prize Foundation) says, "The day before something is a breakthrough, it's a crazy idea."

We would also like to say that we are not an “anti-BP” organization.  We would hate to be in their shoes right now, and we feel for the people that are under extreme pressure during this time.  We don't like what's going on in the Gulf, but right now is not the time to point fingers, place blame, and hope that “someone else” fixes it - now is the time to pull together as one and do everything in our power to mitigate the damages.  We encourage BP to embrace the initiatives of others and accept help whenever possible.

Here is an example oil separation device constructed by one of the Gulfclean community contributors!  It's built from parts purchased from your local hardware store, and efficiently separates oil at around a 50% rate.  Click "Read more" for more information, or Click Here for the discussion forum!
